The Positive Art is based on the theory that it is much easier to search for well-being within an individual when he is aware and has the correct information on his brain operation mode.

It is clear that the evolution of contemporary societies leave little space for self-fulfillment of human nature and in fact created more and more every day millions of individuals in physical and mental balance! The ability to direct the individual towards a rational and conscious vision of facts, interpretations and resulting behaviors could predict the Positive Art a humanistic interest. A positive work of art that acts as visual stimulus associated with experimentations (mixed of positive psychology techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, neuroscience) can promote an overall environmental development conducive to the welfare of the human nature and synthetic dysfunctional schemas reduction .

The positive art emerged from the reflections of the artist Dean Ildefonse in 2012, following an interaction with a person prone to emotional disorders. Gradually, the positive art, inspired by positive psychology, neuroscience and spirituality, was organized from shapes (people, landscape, object, nature) colours, words and positive phrases with a dual purpose aesthetic and therapeutic. The work must create something around the psychic reaction to the beholder. The idea is that we give him work as a visual stimulus, and we provide a therapeutic program of action to put in place to remove the unpleasant and promote the enjoyable. We want to lead that person within a positive psychological environment. The positive art can be both general (a work created for everyone) and individual (a work created for a single person with a psychic income target defined between the artist and the patient). Our goal is to increase the sensory information of the work in areas of the brain that will activate a reaction related to a past pleasure experienced or imagined. The work must therefore act as a stimulus to pleasure at the first observation. And if the pleasure was effective, the same work will act as a repetitive stimulus to install a sustainable well-being.

The positive art as defined from the beginning by its creator should be used in the near future with the measuring elements, understanding, Research and Evaluation borrow from positive psychology, neuroscience, spirituality, nature, forms and colours and texts.

The inspirations in our research revolve around passion, well-being, happiness and the fight against unhappiness and misfortune! These are emotions that are found in our brain “positive or negative” and which are created thanks to the neural network. Our goal is to increase the sensory information of the work in areas of the brain, (which for most is in the area where the memory is regulated) to activate a reaction related to a known past or imagined pleasure! It goes without saying that the first scientific experiment around the Positive Art will bring others in the future. This will help us better understand how sensory information from the works can stimulate brain areas and lead to the secretion of hormones related to well-being. In a teaching methodology, future research should focus to clinical research, research in small groups, individual research, all by human contact and through the Internet. Exactly the kind of methodology that was implemented for the development of positive psychology.
